Rafael Segri, or Rafa, is a creative leader focused on building brands and ideas that genuinely connect with people and culture.
He recently joined Canva as Head of Creative, ECD for North America, leading creative work across the U.S., Canada, and Australia. His focus is on shaping the next chapter of a brand where creativity is the product, and on expanding Canva’s cultural impact, especially in the U.S, working closely with the brand and the partner agencies.
Before Canva, Rafa spent around 3 years at DoorDash, where he built and led Superette, the company’s in house creative studio, working in close partnership with agencies as a true extension of the team. During that time, he helped put the brand on the creative map by building not just standout work, but the creative foundation behind it. He led a multidisciplinary team of 40 plus creatives and owned the final creative call across brand, campaigns, and platforms.
That model led to the most ambitious and awarded work in the company’s history, including a Cannes Media Grand Prix for Self Love Bouquet and a Titanium Grand Prix for DoorDash-All-The-Ads. During this period, DoorDash was named one of the Top 10 Most Creative Brands at Cannes, Superette Ranked #2 by The One Show and The Drum top 20 agencies, and the company was recognized as one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential Companies, a Top 50 Hottest Brand, also made its debut on the Fortune 500 list and on top of that the brand was named 2025’s fastest growing brand in the U.S, reinforcing the impact of creativity on business growth.
Earlier in his career, Rafa spent over 15 years at leading agencies, including McCann New York, TBWA Chiat Day New York, and Saatchi and Saatchi New York, where he co-created It’s a Tide Ad, widely recognized as one of the most celebrated and effective Super Bowl campaigns of all time.
His work has earned the industry’s highest honors through ideas that broke into culture and sparked conversations far beyond advertising. Rafa is known for clear creative leadership, strong taste, and deep respect for craft. He focuses on building teams and creative environments where bold ideas thrive, and where the process is as rewarding as the work itself.
